Bio

Alex Tallon is a Sydney-based musician, composer, and 2025 graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Writing and producing under the moniker TALLON, he explores a diverse sonic landscape that blends art rock, electronic, and folk influences.

As a bass player, Alex has performed with a range of Sydney acts including Modus Fire and Genie Baby, building a reputation for expressive, groove-driven playing. Alongside live performance, he composes for screen across short films, documentaries, theatre, and advertising, with a strong focus on narrative-driven sound.

In 2023, Alex was awarded Best Soundtrack at the University of Sydney’s Masters of the Screen Awards for his work on the short film Object, highlighting his emerging voice in screen composition.

Beyond music, Alex also works as an on-screen extra, appearing in commercial campaigns for Budget Direct and as a featured extra in the upcoming feature film Greyhound 2 (currently in production).

Currently, Alex is working on his debut album as TALLON, continuing to develop a sound defined by textural experimentation and immersive storytelling. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Gotye, Peter Gabriel, and Björk, he aims to push creative boundaries through collaboration and contribute to Australia’s evolving music and screen industries.

“TALLON are smooth, like velvet rubbing on ice. There’s a lot of very tricksy music that goes into these sorts of textures in order to make it this frictionless but, however the trick is pulled off, it goes down without touching the sides, leaving just a woozy effect behind, a happy buzz.”
